What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

1 John 4:7-21 ESV / 24 helpful votes

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. In this the love of God was made manifest among us, that God sent his only Son into the world, so that we might live through him. In this is love, not that we have loved God but that he loved us and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. …

Forgiving

Hey! Thank you for doing your devotions! In Sunday School we talked about forgiving others, and today I just want to follow up with that. I know how easy it is to claim you forgave someone but still hold a grudge or have bitterness in your heart about that person because they did you wrong. We need to pray for understanding, forgiveness, grace, and patience. We need to forgive like Christ forgave us, maybe that person did do you wrong but I’m sure you and I have done worse to God. The bible also says that once we sin and God forgives us he doesn’t even think about that sin again. we as Christians need to be full of grace. Read these verses and choose three, then explain and apply those verses to your life. Thank you! Go remind someone to do their devotions!

And his mouth calls for blows.

Is a brother to him who is a great destroyer.

The righteous run to it and are safe.

It is folly and shame to him.
