We make decisions everyday, the most important decision is to get saved. Tom Farrell said “If God is telling you to get saved, GET SAVED!!! Don’t harden your heart to God!!!”
Dr. Farrell also mentioned that the word “death” is in the Bible 1,300 times. Most people don’t talk about it (death) but think about it.
Once you die, all choices are over, you can’t make any more choices after death. Once you die you will either fly into heaven or fall into hell. God makes the last call, not you.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:21- For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 6:1,2- We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says:
“In an acceptable time I have heard you,
And in the day of salvation I have helped you.”[a]
Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
2 Thessalonians 2:9-12- The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
Titus 3:5- not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit
Romans 1:18-19, 21-24, 26, 28- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Himas God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man—and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. 24 Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves
26 For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting
So for today:
- Choose 3 verses and apply them to your life
- How has your life has changed since yo have gotten saved
Romans 1:18-19, 21-24, 26, 28- For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, 19 because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.
-this goes along with how we are always told that although lost people don’t see Jesus, they see Jesus through us. Or they should at least. But when our actions are sinful and ungodly, then we are hiding the life changing truth of Jesus Christ. And for that God will punish us.
Titus 3:5- not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit
-Ive dealt with doubting my salvation before and it’s an awful thing to deal with but this verse and others with the same message are such an obvious comfort. I know we can’t save ourselves and that it takes God to save us and at first glance I’d say that’s all this verse says. But when you really think about it, if we can’t save ourselves then how can we doubt our getting saved. I didn’t do a thing except accept it so I couldn’t have done it wrong and God surely didnt mess up!
22 Professing to be wise, they became fools
-Wow. This reminds me of a message we heard at Trinity by David Nasser in which he said that it’s much more difficult for a lost person who grew up going to be church to be saved than it is for a lost person with a bad past and say bad home life. That church-going person can try to hide behind the facade of being a Christian to avoid confronting the true status in his relationship with God. He can act like he is wise, but he is ONLY foolish for doing so. He is still lost no matter how wise he may seem and he is only hurting himself. This verse I think is a great warning to confront this if need be and make sure you have a relationship and not just a religion. I grew up in church but I still had a time when I started a relationship with God. I was young and my life didnt flip upside down or anything drastic but my relationship with God has rather guided me growing up even though at times Ive strayed and been farther away from God.
